A "Hole in One" of a Cake Smash

Having just celebrated this monumental milestone with my own daughter, I have a greater appreciation for capturing all of the details that make it special- family moments, baby's unique personality and emerging independence, and of course the cake scene.

Everything about this photoshoot was sweet; however, being a parent myself, I fell in love with watching Hudson interact with his "Mama" and "Dada". I wanted to make sure Renee and Jim had beautiful photos that showcased how far they've come as parents, so we spent some time posing for family portraits. Candid shots are my favorite to capture though, so I made sure to catch a few of those, too. #capturethemoments #familyphotos

Hudson was ready for the camera from the moment I arrived. Bless his little soul, he was such a ham! As you've probably already guessed, we created a golf-themed photoshoot right on the green. He must watch the golf channel everyday because he totally impersonated the pros out there on the course. I mean, check out that hole in one happy dance! We saved the best part of the shoot for last- the cake!

Hudson had never tasted cake before, but that didn't stop him from going for it the minute Renee set him down in front of that frosted goodness. Within seconds he was covered in cake and frosting and it was amazing! We were all laughing so hard at his adorable expressions while he enjoyed his tasty treat. I'd say Hudson is a big fan of birthdays!
